Bishop, Entire Congregation Robbed During Live Church Service

Bishop Lamor Miller-Whitehead, an American Pastor and members of his congregation were robbed of about $400K in jewellery during a live-streamed church service on Sunday. Whitehead was speaking at the Leaders of Tomorrow International Ministries in Canarsie, Brooklyn, when the robbery happened. He made this known on his social media pages afterwards, when he said, "I didn’t know if they wanted to shoot the church up or if they were just coming for a robbery.”  While addressing comments on him having expensive jewellery, he said, “A lot of people are going to say, ‘Why are you so flashy?’ It’s my prerogative to purchase what I want to purchase if I work hard for it.” Follow City Gist for breaking news and videos.

The young woman who brought about the arrest of Amanda Chisom has revealed herself and the reason behind it. She is Amanda Chidera Nwoye, a young lawyer who is in her 30s. In her post, it was clear that she was angered by Amanda Chisom's uncouth utterances when she enquired about CHINMARK Chinedu's whereabouts. This should be a lesson to social media users who think that they can hide under the keyboard to insult and ridicule people. Be vigilant guys!

Young Nigerian blogger earns over $75k for the month of July

An excited young Nigerian by the name Awucha Ezekiel has taken to Facebook to share his earnings from blogging for the month of July, totalling the sum of $75,378.10. This post has reportedly caused ripples among many young Nigerians, especially at a time when a lot of them are still grappling with unemployment and economic hardship. In the said post, Ezekiel simply made a screenshot of his earning for the month of July and posted on Facebook with the poser, "bloggers, how much Google pay una today"? This post by Ezekiel goes ahead to confirm that even with the current economic doldrums bedeviling our country, there are a lot of legitimate ways young people can leverage on to make earnings for themselves. Kidnapped Arthur Jarvis University Student rescued by the Police, suspects killed.

Men of the Cross River State Police Command have rescued an Arthur Jarvis University student, Josephine, who was abducted on Tuesday by kidnappers operating from Akpabuyo Local Government Area, Cross River State, Vanguard Newspaper comfirms. The school, which is located 18 kilometers away from Calabar, the state capital, is the first private university in the state and has almost rounded off it’s session billed for Friday (yesterday) before the incident. A covert operation, Vanguard learned, was carried out by a crack team of policemen following directives of the Commissioner of Police Cross River state, Aminu Alhassan. According to a top security source, the covert operation took the tactical unit into the hideout of the hoodlums in Akpabuyo, where the victim was rescued at about 11pm on Thursday. APC National Chairman 'endorses' Peter Obi

In what looks like a technical endorsement, the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Mr. Abdulahi Adamu has made startling remarks about the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi. The APC chair who made the remarks on Arise Television was quoted to have said that Peter Obi means well for the people.  In his words, “Peter Obi, I knew him when he was governor of Anambra state, I visited him. These are people who mean well as far as I’m concerned, from their outbursts they mean well. They are well grounded, I don’t have doubts about that." A young man identified as Sunday Akingbala, who is said to be a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporter and member of Amotekun, has reportedly shot himself while celebrating the victory of Ademola Adeleke, governorship candidate of the party. The shooting is said to have occured in Ile Ife on Sunday. He was taken to the Seventh Day Adventist Church hospital in Lagere, Ile Ife, but later referred to Obafemi Awolowo Teaching Hospital. Adeleke, Osun state governor-elect, polled 403,371 votes to defeat Gboyega Oyetola, governor and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who secured 375,027 votes.

Just In: Winners Chapel refuses to wed Couple for coming to the event late

In what looked like a movie script, the Winners Chapel, Youth Avenue, Uyo refused to wed this couple today because they arrived at the church late.  According to eye witnesses, the couple who arrived the church 35 minutes late were denied the church blessings on the ground of established protocols. The guests however gathered around the couple and snapped pictures.  "At least that's the much we could do", one of the eye witnesses rhetorted. APC Youth Leader nabbed

An agent of All Progressives Congress (APC) suspected to be engaged in vote-buying has reportedly been nabbed by The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The suspect who was simply identified as Nurudeen, was caught with bags of cash allegedly used to pay for votes in Isale Osun, Osogbo. According to an EFCC official, the suspect was caught in the very act. “immediately he handed over the money to someone at the polling unit, we caught him”, the official said. As at press time, the suspect and the accomplice were to be moved to Ilorin in Kwara .

Just In: Boat Passengers Robbed, Stranded on Sea, call for urgent help.

Indications have emerged from a viral video posted on Facebook about passengers (all female) who are reportedly stranded after being robbed by gunmen on Sea. In the video, one of the ladies was seen calling for urgent help, as they couldn't tell their exact location at the moment. According to the lady doing the narration, they were on their way to Oron, Akwa Ibom State, from Calabar, Cross River State when they were intercepted and robbed by the gunmen. After dispossessing them of their valuables, the criminals took away the boat Rider and all the male passengers, leaving them alone in the boat stranded and in need of urgent rescue. In her words, "please, if you guys have seen this video on my status, we need help. Just raise an alarm. I'm going for a wedding in Akwa Ibom, we were robbed.
